Every job starts with time spent understanding you, your space and how you'll use it. We balance form and function so the piece works as well as it looks. People come back because we care, we communicate, and we do what we say we're going to do.
Custom timber kitchens are a specialty. We take inspiration from the old and bring it into the present, working from your architect's drawings, your rough sketch, or a blank page.

Libraries, home offices, alcove cupboards and TV units, made for awkward spaces and old houses whose walls are never quite square, with lighting built in where it helps.

We take the time to find out how you'll actually use the space, then design around it, rather than drawing up something generic that doesn't work day to day.

Most of our furniture starts as an idea someone has carried around for years. We get to turn it into something real, and we feel privileged to be trusted with it.

French doors, arched and gothic frames, screens and brass-clad entries. Made to match an old house or designed for a new build, and one-off shapes are welcome.

The care shows in the details: the joints, edges, pulls and grain you notice every time you use a piece.

From the first conversation to installation, you deal with the same small team.
We'll come to you and talk it all through, sketch up ideas and look at reference images together.
We draw it up in 3D so you can see it before it's built, refine it with you, then share a cost.
Once you've approved the design, we build it in our Moonah workshop from solid Tasmanian timbers.
We install everything ourselves.
“It was a joy to work with Phil on our bespoke library unit. From discussing design, finishing and lighting options to measuring and installation, everything went smoothly, with Phil always showing genuine care for our needs. Excellent craftsmanship and friendly, responsive communication made the whole process a breeze. We couldn't be happier.”
“Phil is lovely, his workmanship is immaculate, and his designs are smart, elegant, and sympathetic to the space. The process was a pleasure. Delighted with how it turned out. Strong recommend!”
“Phil was one of the most talented craftsman we have ever worked with! His attention to admin was refreshing too! We communicated what we were looking for and he drafted up a 3D render for us to approve and adjust along the way. The end result was really epic! It's gonna be a legacy bookshelf for my entire family to enjoy!”
“What a magnificent contribution Phil has made to our house. He worked with us closely from the first visit to understand our needs, and design the elegant custom furniture that suits our house and us. Phil refined the designs based on our feedback, and provided the input of his experience to find designs that worked for us. The quality of Phil and Andy's craftsmanship is second to none. Exceptional quality crafted furniture and joinery. I'll recommend Little Shed bespoke furniture and joinery to anyone. Much better product than store-bought, and designed and crafted to suit our space.”
“Amazing experience in terms of detailed design, expert build and difficult delivery/installation process. I've followed Phil's journey for a while via Facebook and it was great to finally be able to engage him (and Andy) to design, build and install a variety of bespoke pieces of furniture. Phil's enthusiasm and love for what he does is infectious. Also he has a transparent 'nothing is a problem' attitude which makes the whole process super enjoyable. I love the bespoke furniture he has created. I'll definitely be getting more. I couldn't rate Little Shed Custom Furniture & Joinery any higher!”
